Technology & Process
 
     “Kremikovtzi” AD is designed and equipped with lines, devices and technology for complete production cycle (turnaround) – from the processing of the iron containing raw materials to the produced products. Iron containing raw materials are treated through sintering to obtain the sinter semi product. The manufactured sinter is fed to the Blast Furnaces with pellets, directly reduced iron, coke and additives in established ratio for the production of hot metal intended for subsequent treatment to the manufacturing of steel.
     The production of steel in the Corporation is accomplished using 2 methods – by converting in the oxygen converters with top blowing and in the electrical arch furnace. The Steel Melting Shop is equipped with an installation for processing outside of furnaces - steel alloying, rafining and treatment of steel by using of inert gasses, degassing. The casting of molten converter and EAF steel is made on the slab machines for continuous cast slabs.
     The sinter machines, blast furnaces, converters, electrical arch furnace and machines for continuous casting of steel are equipped with facilities for eliminating of gasses from the processes.
     The rolling part of the Corporation includes a semi-continuous Hot Strip Mill-1700 for the producing of hot rolled coils.
     The production of cold rolled products is made on the semi-continuous Mill Shops “1700” and “1200”. First, the strip passes through thermal treatment in the Bell Furnaces and is annealed on the Continuous annealing line.
     The development Company strategy provides stepwise reconstruction, modernization and implementation of automation operation systems, as well as other activities. All the activities purpose is better quality of products, reduction of consumption during the process, respectively reduction of the cost of production, as well as increasing of the product mix.
     “Kremikovtzi” AD has enough technical capacity and qualified employees for research and test of production. The Quality Management System is already implemented and it has a certificate in accordance with BGS EN ISO 9001:2001.
     The Corporation has a certificate, according to Directive 89/106/???, for the sign „??”.
